a happy mid-week list:
missing max's field trip monday and taking him to the movies instead, sitting on the front porch watching storm clouds roll by, putting skunk plants around my garden to keep squirrels away only to have the squirrels eat the skunk plant, knowing it's almost summer by the amount of dirt on the floor and baths taken at night, sunshine for days in a row, making lists and checking stresses away, dreaming up mother-boy shenanigans for max's last day of school next week...we're really going to mix things up around here, waking up this morning to find my internet came back to me. it was on the fritz all day yesterday which was way more unbearable than it should have been. i think i might be more than slightly dependent on all of you.
p.s.
please keep our buddy in your thoughts today.
he's spending the day at the montessori school we have our fingers crossed to send him to next year. he does half day public school kindergarten right now...so a full school day with strangers and a atypical classroom is quite a jump. and the mama in me is clawing at the walls and ceiling of my heart for this boy who has such a good and adventurous spirit.
he's going into the unknown with a sacked lunch and some hopes.
but not a bit of guff.
last night during his bath, i saw him rubbing off the temporary pirate tattoos he had just put on his legs. he told me he didn't want his new friends to think he was "too cool".
he's going to be just fine, that max.
but just in case, i might sit in the parking lot all day.
You guys look beautiful! Good luck Max! You can do it!
