carrot top


our poor little garden didn't fare so well this year...too many critters and hot sun and vacation days away without watering. but last night we discovered that our carrots are alive and well and busting at the seams! i've spent the better part of the rainy afternoon here in ohio digging up the perfect carrot recipes...cookies and cakes and tortes and soup.
it all has me dreaming up all sorts of fall baking projects for me and max. 
i can hardly believe it's right around the corner.

    Your carrots are gorgeous. We only planted peppers and tomatoes this year, but didn't get much of anything. I think the heat just did them in.

    I can sympathize with you....our garden hasn't fared so well either this summer. but yay for carrots! I've always thought they're some of the most beautiful vegetables, especially pulled directly from the ground.

    I LOVE carrot cake! And those carrots look delicious :) I'm in Australia so we're just preparing our gardens now for Spring/Summer. It's so exciting when things grow and you get to eat them, yum!

    i love growing carrots but ours never got that big! i love making ribolita :D one of my favorite all time recipes!
