buckets of berries




 
it's the beginning of strawberry season and there is nothing better this time of year than freshly picked berries straight out of the sun. there is a sweetness that is all but forgotten during the winter that i was reminded of this morning as my sister amy and i stopped for quarts and quarts to take home.

each one is a sweet little reminder that summer is coming not too far...

    I love strawberry season! When I was growing up, we had a big strawberry patch out the back and we used to pick big bowlfuls in the morning then squish them under milk for breakfast. Squashed strawberries still smell like summer to me. I love these photographs, too, and your very stylish bump (my bump is sporting a much less photogenic "long t-shirt over drawstring pants" look).

    Mmmm strawberries...and the perfect outfit to match! You are very stylish! The strawberry season is huge here in France right now and I recently made a strawberry peach pie to celebrate. I put the recipe on my blog if you are interested but it pains me to talk about it because I am off sugar for 30 days!
