winter picnic



there's a little place in the woods nearby that i've been aching to go to while the snow is fresh...pack along some firewood and warm food and a blanket...have a winter picnic! it was so nice to stay huddled up and warm together for an afternoon. sis stayed mesmerized by the fire flame light while matt smoked on his pipe and the whole thing made me feel nostalgic for my grandpa. oh, the happiness.

there's so much about this part of year that can bring about blues...it's a comfort to know that all it takes to wake me up on the inside is a couple of good people, cold air to breathe, and some warm soup.

    Ah! SO pretty, Katie. Is that a Pendelton Blanket? There was one just like that in one of the antique stores in Tipp that I wanted SO BADLY and felt guilty to buy. Now I'm regretting it.. ugh. Also, I'm officially obsessed with Phoebe. Her 6mth pictures are too cute! Miss you guys.

      it is! i got it for a song at the springfield flea market. i just saw your blanket at the antique store the other day...it's still there!

      i can't wait for you and issac to get back here! we won't let you go without having you over for dinner and letting phoebe bite your fingers.

    what a great idea!! i've felt so cooped up with the winter weather, a winter picnic sounds lovely. we had a picnic indoors on the living room floor the other day. this is the time of year you do have to fight the blues and get a little creative with our days.
